Reports To: Production Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Food Production Working Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced food production environment. This role is ideal for someone with proven leadership skills, strong decision-making ability, and a solid understanding of quality control, efficiency, and team dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and participate in daily production activities to meet output and quality goals.
Provide clear direction to team members and delegate tasks in the absence of Production Supervisor.
Communicate effectively with both team and upper management—sharing both positive feedback and areas for improvement.
Apply root cause analysis to production issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout production.
Lead by example in maintaining food safety and operational excellence.
Balance quality and cost-efficiency in decision-making and daily operations.
Embrace and lead change initiatives to improve processes or accommodate business needs.
Maintain accurate documentation and reports; preferred candidate will have clear, legible handwriting.
Make sound, reasonable decisions with the ability to explain the “why” behind them to both team and management.
Assist in training and onboarding of new team members.
Multitask effectively and remain calm and collected under pressure.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment; supervisory experience required.
Strong understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of quality assurance standards and food safety best practices.
PCQI certified (preferred) or willingness to complete training.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
Ability to write legibly and maintain detailed records.
Proficient in time management, team leadership, and problem-solving.
Adaptable to change with a positive, solution-driven attitude.
