Job Description

The Alfond Youth & Community Center (AYCC) is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Group Fitness Instructors to lead safe, engaging, and effective fitness classes for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Instructors will provide high-quality instruction in formats such as cycling, HIIT, yoga, Pilates, Functional Fitness/TRX, and more, while fostering a supportive and motivating environment. Ideal candidates are passionate about health and wellness, skilled in group instruction, and committed to helping members achieve their fitness goals.

WORK SCEHDULE: 5:00am-6/7:00am Wednesday and Thursday OR Thursday and Friday (Less than 5 hours per week)


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

• Must possess a professional image
• Ability to provide up to date instruction and high energy motivation. Prior instructional experience helpful.

Essential Functions

• Safely lead energizing, fun, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the Alfond Youth and Community Center (AYCC) mission and goals.
• Design and ensure delivery of programs and activities appropriate to the target population including but not limited to youth fitness, senior/adult fitness, teen fitness, general fitness, group exercise, sport performance training.
• Within the scope of practice, answer questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintain working knowledge of wellness and industry trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Keep accurate class attendance records and track monthly participation.
• Assist with storing/maintaining/organizing/cleaning of equipment.
• Provide coverage for Wellness Center desk.
• Build effective, authentic relationships with members; help members connect with each other and the AYCC.

Required Certifications

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Certified as a Group Fitness Instructor or ability to become certified.
• Group Fitness Instructor - Y Certified
• Group Fitness Professional - Associate’s degree in related field or 200+ hour certification.
• Must hold current CPR/AED certification.
