Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility in Irving, TX . This is a 3 month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Irving, TX 75063

Pay Rate: $50 - $57/hr. on W2.

Duration: 3 Months (possibility of extension or conversion into full time role)

Shift: 2nd shift/Tuesday to Saturday 2pm - 10:30pm

*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all SOPs for specimen handling, processing, testing, and result reporting.
• Perform and document high-complexity testing using approved procedures.
• Review, verify, and release patient test results.
• Maintain accurate records for patient testing and proficiency testing.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and all laboratory safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Follow quality control policies; document QC, calibrations, instrument maintenance, and corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting test performance; escalate when needed.
• Report STAT and critical results per department procedures.
• Provide support to clients or lab staff when applicable.
• Ensure proper labeling, dating, and tracking of reagents and test kits.
• Maintain department cleanliness and organization.
• Participate in training, competency assessments, departmental meetings, and regulatory inspections.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; OR BS/BA in Chemistry/Biology; OR associate degree in Lab Science/Medical Technology; OR qualification under 42 CFR 493.1433.
• National certification (ASCP or AMT) REQUIRED.
